Match the mechanism to the material
Begin with the workpiece and the hole requirement. Record the materials, hole diameters, typical depth and expected daily workload. A drill driver, impact drill and rotary hammer are different product categories, even when all appear in a search for drills. Do not approve a substitution based only on a similar power figure or an attractive accessory bundle.
Ask the supplier to confirm the intended operation and the manufacturer’s capacity information for the exact model. Separate drilling, screwdriving and chiselling requirements. The most versatile-looking tool may be less practical than a dedicated configuration when work is repeated all day.
Check the complete system
For cordless products, identify the battery platform, included battery capacity, charger input and the number of packs in the quotation. A bare tool price cannot be compared directly with a ready-to-use kit. Consider how the purchase fits the batteries and chargers already used by the maintenance team, while confirming compatibility with the manufacturer.
For corded models, confirm voltage, frequency, plug and cable requirements for the destination. Identify the chuck or accessory interface and the supplied adaptors. Specify the bits needed for the first job separately, including diameter, working length and workpiece material. Accessories should be selected according to their own manufacturer instructions, rather than assuming that every bit fits every machine.
Compare evidence and support
Request model plate photographs and an itemised packing list. Ask whether side handles, depth stops, cases and other listed accessories are included. Obtain information on replacement parts, local service arrangements and the applicable warranty process. A long warranty statement has limited value if the buyer cannot practically access service.
For incoming inspection, compare model and serial identification, count kit components and inspect visible damage. Any operational trial should use an agreed method, suitable work material and competent personnel. Record results against the purchase specification. PROCONSA can collect equivalent quotations, but the technical selection should reflect the actual job and the buyer’s approved operating procedures.
