Describe the complete connection
Plumbing components often look interchangeable in photographs while using different connection systems. Specify the nominal size, actual dimensional requirements, thread or joint type and the component material. Include a drawing or a clear reference when an existing installation must be matched. Do not rely on a short description such as half-inch fitting to resolve every interface detail.
Describe the fluid, operating conditions, installation environment and maintenance access. Ask the supplier to identify the manufacturer’s stated service limitations for the exact product. Compatibility should be confirmed for the complete assembly, including seals and any joining products, rather than inferred from the material of the main body.
Build a comparable quotation schedule
List valves, fittings, supports and installation accessories separately. Specify units carefully: a length, roll, bag and individual piece are different commercial quantities. Ask suppliers to identify the pack size and any minimum order requirement. A quotation should make substitutions and exclusions visible for technical approval.
Request model identification, dimensional information and the documents required by the project. For pumps and other powered equipment, add the actual duty requirements and supply conditions. A product title or nominal power figure alone does not establish that the equipment will deliver the required operating point in the installed system.
Plan inspection around the agreed requirements
On receipt, verify product markings, sizes, quantities and supplied accessories. Inspect threads, sealing surfaces and visible damage. Agree in advance whether dimensional checks, material records or other tests are required and who will perform them. Visual inspection cannot confirm every material property or long-term leak performance.
Compare complete installed requirements and replacement availability before selecting a supplier. Keep approved specifications and photographs with the purchase record to support repeat orders. PROCONSA can consolidate supplier clarification and arrange a documented inspection scope. The installation design and final technical approval should remain with the buyer’s competent project team.
