Describe the space and the task
A lighting RFQ should explain where the product will be installed and what the lighting needs to achieve. Include the space, mounting method, working environment and any design documents. A wattage comparison alone cannot establish useful light distribution, visual comfort or suitability for a particular area.
Ask for the product information needed by the lighting designer or project team. Identify the exact model and optical configuration, rather than accepting a family-level brochure as the complete specification. Where a performance target is important, make the required evidence and acceptance method explicit before placing the order.
Confirm electrical and mechanical details
Specify the destination supply conditions and the required connection arrangement. Ask whether the driver is included, built in or supplied separately. Confirm the control or dimming method and compatibility with the proposed system. Similar connectors and familiar product names do not prove that separately sourced components will operate together.
Record the required dimensions, mounting accessories and environmental protection information for the actual configuration. Ask what the quoted package includes and how replacement components can be obtained. For multi-location projects, identify any configuration differences rather than ordering a single description that hides several versions.
Compare whole-order support
Request model labels, packing details, instructions and the documents required for project approval. Clarify warranty terms, the responsible service provider and the process for a failure after installation. A promise of a long service life is not a substitute for a practical replacement arrangement or evidence for the stated performance.
Incoming inspection should confirm identity, quantity, visible condition and agreed accessories. Any electrical or operating checks should use an approved method and competent personnel. Retain records so that replacement orders use the same approved configuration. PROCONSA can collect comparable supplier offers and organise an agreed check; final lighting design and installation approval remain with the buyer’s project team.
